It is important to note that this tour is not a snorkeling trip, because the waters around Funzi are not clear due to the mangrove forest around the area. The tour lasts for about 5-6 hours and begins from Diani beach or Mombasa.

Pick up from Diani beach at 7.30am and head out to Bodo via Shirazi village. The drive is about 40min to Bodo, a boat will waiting to take you amazing adventure. The day begins with a trip up the Ramisi river in motorized canoe, the river abounds with exceptional birdlife and, who knows, even the occasional crocodile.

A stop on the sandbank ensures that you’re at the most beautiful spot on the coast for swimming and making the most of this little piece of paradise (don’t forget your sunscreen, towel and beach sandals). After a visit to the village on Funzi island for those who so desire, we head for the Funzi Restaurant. Sample our seafood specialties: crab, grilled fish, coconut rice, and non-seafood menus we offer chicken or beef. Vegetarian dishes are also catered for on request. After a relaxing break, for as long as you choose, return to the mainland by boat. Transfer back to your hotel.

Please note that this is not a snorkeling trip because the waters in Funzi are not clear because of the soil around the mangrove forest.

‍Those who prefer to explore the ocean while dry should check out boats equipped with a glass bottom to obtain an insight into the amazing world underwater. Through the embedded glass bottom in your boat, you can observe what is happening in the water right below your feet.

An experienced captain will guide and control the glass bottom boat since they are very familiar with the area and know where you can find interesting things in the underwater world. Fish, interesting marine life, and corals offer a beautiful and amazing view.

The duration of glass bottom boat excursion with snorkeling from Diani Beach is 3-4 hours, during which you can explore the magical underwater world from the comfort of the glass bottom boat.

Pick up times from your hotel depends on the tide, whether it is high or low tide. The glass boat tours are mostly done during low tides to be able to explore the sand bank (Robinson Island) which pops up during low tides.
